OCE Overwatch

Welcome to the 6/03/2017 edition of the Oceanic Overwatch Power Rankings.

Welcome to the fourth edition of the 2017 Power Rankings.

This Power Rankings were pushed back a week, as you probably noticed, in order to accomodate the Summer Series finals.

An honorable mention to JAM Gaming who recently disbanded, and caused the very slight delay in the Power Rankings. They would've been ranked Third. Also please note that there are two 4th places.

Top 10 Rankings and Writeups

  • Rqt(C), Gunba, kiki, Trill, Ieatuup, Hus, Aetar, SeRenity(M), Doctor (Coach)

After Fusion Girls' return to OCE for some SummerSeries action, it's still very safe to say that they're decisively the top team in the region. Dropping a total of two maps throughout the entire major tournament it appears that there's still quite a distance to travel for other teams before this spot can be reclaimed. And with the return of Aetar, the core of the group is back together and ready to go even harder.

  • Flake, Saphira, Sp4rky, SpOoNzL, Wuvo, Project, Billa

Managing to finish 2nd in the Oceanic Summer Series, they prove they are the 2nd best team in the region. They will be hoping to continue firing on all cylinders to make sure they maintain their 2nd position and try and challenge Fusion Girls for that coveted Number 1 spot.

  • Bim, Ahren, KS1, Jordan, Degs, Stolts, BangZ, Polter(M)

A disappointing exit in Full Circle Summerseries in the group stages for MasterMinds capped off an otherwise promising leadup for the boys. The lack of main tank KS1 seemed to severely limit their play, with a narrow 1-2 loss to Scylla foolowed up by a 0-2 to MA Lakers. The level of play is still very high for these boys, relying on their crisp dive plays to keep them up in the top.

  • Refz(C), Mosh, Termo, Soundwaves, elim, LUSH, Redact(M), Solus(Coach)

With some technical issues, Tempo unfortunately had to drop out of the summer series final 6. Falling to JAM before they decided to forfeit their place. There is some rumours going around about this roster but only time will tell what the future holds for this current Tempo Storm team.

  • Smashbrutha (C), Eevee, PeeBeeandJam, Cinderella, HeyKatie, Tails

Despite having a new roster every time a power ranking comes out, what stays constant is their ability to peform well in tournaments. Going undefeated in their group stage of SummerSeries has shown this team is ahead of almost every team in the region. Their solid run through the round robbin stage saw them net a place on the final day of the competition. Despite losing to Fusion Girls the team should be happy with both their performance and the results throughout SummerSeries. What remains to be seen is if they can keep a consistent roster over the coming weeks.

  • Peezah, face (C), Tongue, Oputo, taki, bdoot, Meemum

A great performance from MA Lakers in the SummerSeries awarded them with a spot in the playoffs, and only narrowly missing out on the top 4. The meteoric rise of this team speaks volumes to the amount of work they've put in over the last couple of weeks, as well as superstar plays on Roadhog and Genji from Oputo.

  • Grafix(C), DaDogFrog, Signed, Micro, Gob, Adam, Mooney, Flayke, NotShaun

With a strong showing in summer series just failing to make it out of the group stages Monopoly Club had to go back to drawing board to figure out what they needed to make the step up to a higher level. Their solution was to bring in the experience of Kura, formerly of Alter Ego to be their new Ana. This change along with some good performances in recent CGs could be the start of Monopoly Clubs push to the top.

  • HooWoo, usmc, Will1 (yes), Switch (C), Molotov, Rek

Yes men have been going from strength to strength in recent weeks. With probably the hardest group to qualify from in summer series they made a good run of it almost making it but just falling short to Tempo Storm in the end. If they build from that strong run and keep working hard you should see these guys climb the ranks sooner rather than later.

  • Arko (C), Macyn, MrSaigoon, Bachu

eBin have been widely regarded as a gatekeeper to the top teams. However with somewhat surprising results during the SummerSeries qualifiers, the possibility of eBin rising to become one of the top team is not out of reach! Perhaps if the memes subsided and some more intensive practice ensued, eBin could potentially be a real threat to the other teams in the top10.

  • chiller (C), Sanford, eliaas, Psycho, nomey, die

New entrant and new team, Thinking make their way into the power rankings after taking out the #2 team Scylla. While this was only a single best of 1 it shows that this team has the potential to upset teams atop the rankings, which as a new team is no easy task. Whether Thinking is able to repeat this task is yet to be seen, however, teams should look to respect them.
